are a great tool to record ideas that we can then use when writing a piece. Here is a list of activities that you could do.

- opinions
- wonderings
- wishes
- family stories, hobbies and other passions.
The Writing Process
The writing process is used to guide you through the different stages of developing a piece of writing. Please make sure this process is used when writing at home.

- Brainstorm - Using the writers notebooks for ideas (big idea / lesson)
- Planning - based on the genre and that structure of writing
- Drafting - writing the first copy
- Revising - 'up levelling', deleting, changing ideas
- Editing - correct spelling and punctuation
- Publishing - Hand written or typed

Narratives are made up stories.
The structure:
We should always try to write a narrative based on a big idea / lesson and that is usually a representation on how the character changes. These are some examples.

- events - usually 3 events about the characters attempting to solve their problem
- solution - how the characters solve the problem
